Following the COVID-19 lock down on the Isle of Man which caused the cancellation of the Easter Bunny Trains, the situation has improved dramatically on the island.
The Isle of Man removed the need for social distancing following a significant period of being COVID free which has allowed the railway and tearooms to reopen. This it did on Sunday July 5th in glorious sunshine. The volunteers managed to still complete a large amount of maintenance and track work to improve the line and tea rooms during the closed period and it seems to have been appreciated by local visitors returning to the railway. Despite the island’s borders remaining closed we are hopeful of a full season of trains and events to entertain local families who may be staycationing and also visitors utilising the ‘air corridor’ from COVID free Guernsey.
The railway and tea rooms are open Sundays 11am to 4:30pm and Wednesday evenings 7pm – 9pm plus special events including the full timetable for what would have been the Heritage Transport Festival, Cliff Top Concerts and our own Steam Gala.
The volunteers look forward to welcoming you to the glen and for those further afield we hope you’re keeping safe and look forward to welcoming you back to our shores in the not too distant future.
