His Name Lives On!Posted in General News on August 13, 2010 by Alex Brindley As time goes on, the finishing touches are being made to the new Lhen Coan Shop / Booking Office. One such touch, is the arrival of new hand painted signs for the building which proclaim it's name; "Flavell's Emporium" in honour of the late Harold Flavell who was our Treasurer, also joiner who built the coaches and pretty much anything else of wood around the line, and was the resident shop keeper. We are always looking for willing volunteers to join us and maybe step into his shop keeping role, if you're interested drop us an email from the contact us page.

Coach No.4 arrives down the GlenPosted in General News on July 25, 2010 by Alex Brindley
Following the completion of the woodwork for the 4th original coach by the Laxey Village workshop, it arrived on GGR metals this week. They have done a fine job, and it certainly looks smart in the shed next to the three coaches that the late Harold Flavell rebuilt..he would have approved. There is still much work to do before it is ready for service, including varnishing, assembling the brakegear, fitting canvas to the roof and fitting some of the final metal work. It is hoped that this can be completed by the end of the year, ahead of a traditional 4 coach original "Groudle train" operating on special services next year for the first time in nearly 48 years!
