It was certainly a mixed bag of weather for Easter 2018, but a fantastic family time was still had by all who came to see the Easter Bunny.Easter Sunday saw glorious sunshine bless the island and hundreds of families visited the railway to ride the Easter Bunny Trains, meet the Easter Bunny for a chocolate egg and have their souvenir photo taken and enjoy free drinks in the café. Also along the line they had to keep their eyes peeled for the different coloured eggs the Easter Bunny had left along the way in order to enter the Easter Egg Hunt to win their own Easter Bunny and a Car & 4 return ticket generously donated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Sadly Easter Monday was not as kind with the weather, with the atmosphere being decidedly more damp with rain all day. However hundreds of people still ventured down the glen to travel on the trains and support our volunteers and the Easter Bunny.
An intensive service was operated all weekend by Maltby and Dolphin top and tailing a three coach train along the full line, sadly Annie was withdrawn from service at the last minute due to boiler issues, but it is envisaged she will be back in service for the start of the 2018 season.
The railway and tea rooms are next open for the start of the Summer Sunday Season on Sunday 6th May from 11am to 4:30pm.
A huge thank you to everyone who came to the railway over the Easter weekend to support the line and we hope you had a fantastic time.
