It was one of the hottest days of the year down the glen on Sunday, but it was also the day that Brown Bear finally sat upon all her wheels, with thanks to the work of John Hocking for his recent machining work… so she is now officially a 2-4-0!

Whilst there is still work to do on her motion, her tanks and cab have been constructed off site with the kind assistance of Nick Midgeley at Midcam Engineering… and our attention is now turning to her boiler!

We still don’t have enough funds in the appeal to complete the locomotive and order the boiler, so if you can help support us in building the locomotive and fund the final pieces of the puzzle, please do help us via the Brown Bear Appeal page on the website.
